Holland (Needs Theory) Personality Approach

This Theory is the foundation for Strong Vocational Interest Inventory.

Six Types: Artistic, Social, Realistic, Investigative, Conventional, and
Enterprising (AS-RICE or RIASEC)

These are not pure types, thus the person can be categorized via profile (i.e.,

1917: Smith-Hughes Act provided federal monies to states for vocational education and established the Federal Board for Vocational Education. This board later administered veteran and civilian rehabilitation programs.

Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Code of Ethics describes standard practices. Sometimes standards of practice conflict with each other.
